Benefits Of Coaching

Self-Discovery, Success,
And So Much More…

As a practice, coaching comes with many benefits. Exactly what those benefits are can be as varied as the individuals being coached. Investing in life coaching is an investment in yourself, your personal and professional development. It’s a means of creating powerful, positive change. The invaluable space your coach provides for personal growth and development cannot be underestimated, and while there has been anecdotal evidence or years suggesting coaching has many benefits, numerous studies have now been conducted proving what we have known for a while: coaching may be the one ‘life-changing’ service that can actually follow through on that promise.

I’m Anna,

A Deep Dive Into The Benefits Of Coaching

Now you’ve had an overview of how coaching can benefit you, you’ve probably got more questions. Embarking on a life coaching journey is an exciting and inspiring time, but it can also be quite daunting. It’s perfectly natural you’d want to gain a greater understanding of the process before you begin. The bigger question that most people have, however, isn’t what it’s like to have coaching, but how coaching can change your life.

You don’t care about what I’ll say and do as your coach nearly as much as you’re interested in the potential life coaching has to transform your life into something more. Something different. Something new. Or something better.

For whatever reason, your current life circumstances aren’t living up to your expectations. Something’s not quite right. You may be desperately unhappy, but a lot of the time it’s more about a sense of feeling stuck, or being aware that something is out of alignment. You might know precisely what the issue is and need help addressing it, or you may need help in realising what is causing you to feel dissatisfied, unsettled, or unhappy with your current situation.

One of the greatest benefits of coaching is its power as a catalyst for change. But change for the sake of changing isn’t necessarily beneficial. The true benefit of working with a coach is their ability to provide you with all the tools and insight needed to ensure the change you’re about to work so hard to achieve is genuinely what you need. Here’s a bit more on just how that works…

The Importance Of Self-Awareness

When it comes to understanding yourself, clarity is your greatest ally. It’s easy to dismiss self-awareness as a given. After all, you are yourself. Surely you know yourself better than anyone else? But for many of us there is a gap between our perception of who we are and what we want, and the truth at the heart of ourselves. For example, many of us are shaped by the opinions and expectations our parents and family members have as we grow up. When we’re constantly told we are a particular thing (smart, funny, stupid, whatever) it becomes an internal narrative. A story we tell ourselves. We hear it and think about it so often it becomes reality; that is who or what we are.

But often these stories are nothing more than that; fictions created by the views of others. The truth of ourselves can be quite different. When you’re stuck in a rut it can be incredibly hard to figure out what you need to change if you do not truly understand who you are and what you want. Improving your self-awareness allows you to identify changes needed, and to recognise your true strengths so you can build on them, while setting aside any false narratives that might have been leading you down the wrong path and causing frustration or unhappiness.

Beyond the self, however, you’ll find that the more self-aware you are the more capable you become of understanding others. You can build your empathy, enabling you to improve your relationships (both personal and professional) by gaining a better understanding of your own thoughts and patterns of behaviour.

Coaching is a great way of improving your self-awareness. One of the huge benefits of coaching is having someone to aid you in goal setting and hold you accountable for your goals. And yet, the first step in goal setting is often self-awareness; you need a clear view of who you are, where you are, where you wish you be, and any areas in life where you are currently making mistakes or moving in the wrong direction. Admitting these things and facing your true reflection can be tough – having someone there to help you is invaluable.

How Goals Can Empower Your Life

Goals are like the stars in the night sky guiding a ship; a tangible expression of your wildest dreams and deepest desires. By identifying these dreams and breaking them down into actionable steps, we can turn what may seem like distant fantasies into attainable realities. When you’re working with a life coach you have the benefit of an impartial observer on your life, someone who can draw out your deepest desires for the future. Often, we are so caught up in what is, or what has been that it’s difficult to imagine a life that’s different. We know there’s something missing, something we’re not quite satisfied with, but putting that into words and figuring out what to do about it is incredibly tough. One great benefit that comes with coaching is having someone ask you the tough questions you avoid, helping you see the true answers, and then making a plan to achieve what you really want from life.

Each goal you set is like embarking on a new adventure or exploration. It’s a thrilling journey filled with discovery, learning, and growth. Along the way, you’ll encounter challenges and obstacles, but with guidance and perseverance, you’ll learn valuable lessons that contribute to your personal growth. One of the greatest benefits of coaching is that they can act as a guide on this journey. This keeps you focused, on track, and ensures you don’t just dream your best life, but actively take steps towards making those dreams a reality.

Goals act as bridges, connecting where you are now to where you want to be. Each step on this bridge is a small success, a mini-victory that brings you closer to your ultimate destination. Celebrating these small successes builds confidence and momentum.

As a life coach, my role is to accompany you on this creative journey towards self-realisation and empowerment. Through imaginative exploration and inspired action, we can transform your life into a beautiful expression of your true self. Goals are more than mere checkpoints; they are the brushstrokes, the notes, the dance steps that compose the symphony of your life. Let’s create something beautiful together!
